Christmas Animations for Oldham Council

After the success of the first two animated videos we created for Oldham Council, we were asked to create their Christmas animations for 2021 and 2022.

Christmas 2022: Robin Finds His Festive

Robin, who is feeling down in the dumps (a nod to the cost of living crisis), is taken under Owl’s wing and shown all the Christmas activities around Oldham such as the Uppermill santa dash, the Christmas lights and the reindeer parade, which restores his festive spirit. The scene featuring hundreds of santa clad joggers is possibly one of the busiest 3D character scenes we’ve animated, and the council were really pleased with the result. The music was composed by Greg Hulme.

Christmas 2021: Christmas in Oldham

The focus for this animation was to encourage Oldhamers to shop local at Christmas, after businesses suffered as a result of multiple lockdowns. We featured the main family from the first two animations, as well as the ‘Oldham Lights’, local Christmas markets and Delph Brass Band (who play the soundtrack) playing next to a large Christmas tree outside Spindles. The Council were delighted with how the final animation looked, as were we.

You may notice Oldham’s Matt Walls in the animation – he won a gold and silver medal at the 2021 Olympics. Well done Matt!

This animation was funded by The Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, set up by the European Regional Development Fund and Her Majesty’s Government.
